Job Advert: Business Support Assistant - Temporary Role
Location: Llanelli (minimum 2 days per week in office)
Salary: PAYE: £12.21 per hour | Umbrella: £15.48 per hour
Hours: 37 hours per week (Monday to Friday, 08:00–17:00, with flexible start between 08:00–09:00)
Contract: Temporary, 13 weeks (15 September 2025 – 14 December 2025)

Join Our Team to Support Carmarthenshire’s Environment Department! Network Recruitment Wales is recruiting a Business Support Assistant on behalf of our client within the Environment Department in Carmarthenshire. This temporary role offers an exciting opportunity to provide essential administrative and financial support to various teams, contributing to the department’s aims and objectives.

What You’ll Do:
As a Business Support Assistant, you will:
  • Provide financial and administrative support to ensure the department’s effectiveness and compliance with financial regulations.
  • Process creditor and debtor payments to meet performance targets.
  • Maintain accurate staff personnel records, including absences and payroll data.
  • Ensure systems comply with audit requirements by maintaining financial and administrative records.
  • Prepare and create periodic management information reports as required.
  • Update computer systems and records to ensure accurate and timely management information.
  • Review, analyse, and process job and costing information to maintain up-to-date records.
  • Liaise with contractors and clients as needed.
  • Advise managers on potential improvements to processes and systems for continuous performance enhancement.
  • Monitor departmental mailboxes and calendars, responding in line with corporate policies.
  • Handle telephone queries to deliver high-quality customer support.
  • Perform general administrative tasks, including mail, typing, correspondence, and filing.
  • Undertake any reasonable work-related tasks to support line managers.
What We’re Looking For:
We’re seeking an organised and proactive individual who is:
  • Eligible to work in the UK.
  • Able to provide 2 years of references/work history.
  • Detail-oriented with strong administrative and financial processing skills.
  • Confident in using computer systems and maintaining accurate records.
  • A strong communicator, capable of liaising with contractors, clients, and colleagues.
  • Able to work independently and as part of a team, with a commitment to high standards.
  • Welsh language skills are desirable but not essential.
