- Perform grounds maintenance, including grass cutting (pedestrian/ride-on mowers), strimming, and hedge cutting.
- Mark football fields, repair fine turf, and assist with landscape construction and seasonal bedding.
- Use hand tools (e.g., blowers, strimmers) and drive vehicles/trailers to support tasks like soil cultivation, planting, and weeding.
- Ensure tools, equipment, and vans are maintained, reporting defects and adhering to Health & Safety legislation.
- Support other Neighbourhood Services departments (e.g., Waste, Highways, Street Cleansing, Cemeteries) as needed.
- Skills: Proficiency in horticultural tasks, use of mowers/hand tools, and a proactive approach to maintenance.
- Qualities: Reliable, adaptable, and able to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Experience: Practical experience in grounds maintenance and landscaping.
- Qualifications: Minimum Level 2 City & Guilds in Horticulture (or equivalent); full UK driving licence (for vehicles/trailers).
- Bonus Points: Experience with natural pest control methods and a passion for Green Flag standards.
