Are you an experienced Social Worker passionate about supporting adults in the community? Network Recruitment Wales is seeking a Level 3 Social Worker to join the Adult Services team in Neath for a temporary 12-week assignment. This role provides an exciting opportunity to make a meaningful difference to individuals’ lives while working within a supportive and professional environment.
• Develop and maintain effective joint working arrangements with partner agencies and professionals.
• Undertake holistic assessments in partnership with individuals, carers, families, and relevant professionals.
• Complete financial assessments within the Council’s charging framework.
• Develop and review care plans, identifying social networks and community resources to achieve desired outcomes.
• Coordinate interventions, arrange services, and carry out casework appropriate to assessed needs.
• Take appropriate action to safeguard service users at risk.
• Manage a caseload effectively in accordance with local expectations and frameworks.
• Maintain accurate and timely case records, documentation, and electronic calendars.
• Participate in meetings, case conferences, and contribute professionally to multidisciplinary discussions.
• Monitor, review, and update care plans in line with Directorate guidance.
• Promote equality, adhere to health and safety requirements, and maintain confidentiality in line with GDPR.
For staff at higher competency levels (beyond SCP 30), duties may also include:
• Supervising students, newly qualified, and unqualified staff.
• Providing professional mentoring and guidance to colleagues.
• Managing more complex cases and supporting colleagues in high-risk situations.
• Chairing reviews, meetings, or case conferences.
• Conducting capacity assessments, Best Interest Assessments, CHC assessments, and non-criminal investigations under AAR.
• Undertaking AMHP duties where applicable.
• Leading development initiatives, supporting staff recruitment, and promoting community enterprise.
• Preferably a Mental Health Social Worker with AMHP status (highly desirable).
• Strong assessment, report-writing, and care-planning skills.
• Knowledge of relevant legislation, safeguarding practices, and community-based support models.
• Ability to work collaboratively within a Community Mental Health Team (CMHT) based at Tonna Hospital, Neath.
• Effective time management and prioritisation skills.
