Are you a compassionate and experienced Social Worker dedicated to improving the lives of older adults?

Network Recruitment Wales is seeking a qualified Social Worker to join the Adults Services – Older People Team based in Newtown, Powys, for an 18-week temporary assignment to help meet an increase in service demand. This is an exciting opportunity to make a tangible difference supporting vulnerable adults within a progressive and supportive environment.

What You’ll Do:

• Undertake comprehensive assessments and reviews for older adults to promote independence, dignity, and wellbeing.
• Develop and implement person-centred care and support plans, ensuring statutory duties are met in line with the Social Services and Well-being (Wales) Act 2014.
• Work collaboratively with service users, their families, and multi-agency professionals to achieve the best possible outcomes.
• Support hospital discharges, safeguarding enquiries, and risk assessments.
• Maintain accurate, timely case records and prepare reports for multi-agency panels and case conferences.
• Contribute to service improvement by sharing knowledge and supporting best practice across the team.

What We’re Looking For:

• Qualified Social Worker with a Degree or Diploma in Social Work and registration with Social Care Wales.
• Sound knowledge of adult safeguarding, mental capacity, and community care legislation.
• Proven experience in care management or working with older adults, ideally within a statutory setting.
• Excellent communication, report-writing, and organisational skills.
• A full UK Category B driving licence with business-use insurance and the ability to travel across Powys.
• Flexibility to work evenings or weekends when required.

Essential Requirements:

• Eligibility to work in the UK.
• Enhanced DBS check and Criminal Convictions Declaration.
• Social Care Wales registration.
• Full UK driving licence and car insurance (business use).
• Health Declaration/Questionnaire.
• Signed Confidentiality Agreement.
• 5 years of references/work history.
• CV and proof of qualifications (Social Work Degree desirable).
