What You’ll Do:
- Perform grass cutting, hedge trimming, and landscaping of open spaces to enhance local green areas.
- Empty litter bins, conduct litter picking, and sweep hard surfaces using hand-held or mechanical tools.
- Remove graffiti, clean and paint street furniture, and power wash hard surfaces and monuments.
- Apply herbicides (with relevant training) or remove weeds by hand to maintain public spaces.
- Ensure vehicles are clean, conduct daily safety inspections, and respond to emergencies like flooding or snow clearance as needed.
- Support the Pollinator Policy by establishing sustainable habitats on council-owned land.
- A proactive team player with a full, clean driving licence and related experience in grounds maintenance or cleansing.
- A good understanding of health and safety practices, with the ability to work independently and with pride in your work.
- Excellent communication skills and flexibility to work outside core hours (06:00 - 14:00), including potential bank holiday cover.
- Candidates must reside within a reasonable commuting distance to Abergavenny, Monmouthshire.
- Welsh language skills are desirable but not essential.
- Eligibility to work in the UK.
